Following the short summer break, the MotoGP World Championship kicks back into gear this coming weekend at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the tenth round of the year. The second event on US soil, following the round at Austin in April, will mark the start of a tough period of races for the MotoGP protagonists, with three in the space of four weeks. The Indianapolis GP will be followed one week later by the GP of the Czech Republic at Brno, and then the British Round at Silverstone at the end of the month.
Last year Andrea Dovizioso started from the front row of the grid with second quickest time in qualifying, and he finished the race in seventh place, while the Italian’s other important results here were in 2012 when he took the third podium place, and in 2008, 2010 and 2011 when he finished fifth.
The Indianapolis weekend schedule starts on Friday morning with the first free practice session at 09.55 (15.55 CET) while the 27-lap race starts on Sunday at 14.00 (20.00 CET).

“Indianapolis will be an important weekend: it’s a circuit that in our opinion should be more favourable to our GP15, and it will be useful to see how fast we are at this point of the season. The tests at Misano were very important for us because we were able to work in total relax, without the pressure of a race weekend, and do a lot of back-to-back tests. I hope to bring a halt to my negative run in recent races with a good performance at Indy and to get a good result on a track where last year we went quite well.”
