Andrea Dovizioso scored a podium finish at the Gran Premio Michelin de Aragón after a spectacular comeback through the field, following a row 4 start, that helped him to catch, at the mid point of the race, Miller and Viñales who were fighting for second position. Andrea then passed the Pramac rider and set off after the Spaniard, whom he overtook on lap 21 to finish the race in a superb runner-up slot ahead of Miller.
In the Riders’ standings Andrea Dovizioso remains in second place, 98 points behind leader Marquez.

Andrea Dovizioso (#04 Ducati Team) – 2nd
“It was very important to get back onto the podium after the races at Silverstone and Misano, and so today I’m very happy, especially because of the way in which we were able to get this second place. I started tenth from the fourth row because of a mistake I made in qualifying yesterday, but I knew I had a good pace and on the grid we made the right choice of tyres, going for the soft rear. In the race I was constant right until the very end, I saved my tyres and managed to gain place after place until I could pass Jack and Maverick to finish the GP in second place”.

Andrea Dovizioso is set to start the GP Michelin de Aragón from row 4 after recording the tenth fastest time of 1’48.608 in Q2.
This morning the FP3 session was held on a damp track surface, which partially dried out towards the end, but no rider succeeded in improving on his times from FP2 yesterday afternoon, which as a result was the session that decided the top 10 riders to go through directly into Q2.

Andrea Dovizioso (#04 Ducati Team) – 1’48.608 (10th)
“It’s really a pity because I made a mistake on my good lap: I went wide at Turn 12 and off the track. I think I could have set a time that would have put me on the second row, and that would have helped matters a lot because we have the pace to fight for the podium. Starting from behind complicates the situation a bit more, but I’m confident: tomorrow morning we’ll continue to work during the warm-up and then it will be a good start that could make all the difference.”

At the end of the first two free practice sessions for the Aragón Grand Prix, scheduled for this weekend at the MotorLand circuit near Alcañiz, Andrea Dovizioso finished the day in eighth place.
This morning the Ducati Team rider finished FP1 in fourth position, but in the afternoon – despite he improved his lap time by approximately four-tenths of a second – the Romagna rider was able to remain inside the provisional top 10.

Andrea Dovizioso (#04 Ducati Team) – 1’48.477 (8th)
“Aragón is always a strange track, both for riding and for the tyres, and as there is a chance of rain tomorrow, we changed our work plans as a consequence: we were not able to do many laps with the various types of tyres available, but we tried them all so as to have as clear an idea as possible for the race. It’s not easy, because here everyone is struggling when the tyres drop, but the situation is surely better than Misano: we still have to improve in certain areas but I’m optimistic.”

Andrea Dovizioso finished the San Marino Grand Prix, held today at the Misano World Circuit, in sixth place. The Ducati Team rider, who passed Pol Espargarò on lap 9, then caught Rossi and Morbidelli in a battle for fourth place, but he was unable to pass his two fellow Italians and finished his race in sixth place.
Andrea Dovizioso remains second in the Riders’ standings, 93 points behind leader Marquez.

Andrea Dovizioso (#04 Ducati Team) – 6th
“It was a difficult race, as we had expected. We all suffered because of the very little grip, especially at the front, and it was really difficult to push hard. Pity about the sixth place, because when I managed to catch Rossi and Morbidelli, who were fighting for fourth, there weren’t the right conditions to try and attack without making mistakes. However, I’m pleased with the work we’ve done this weekend, because on Friday our gap was a really big one and we managed to improve the situation for the race a lot.”

Andrea Dovizioso will start the San Marino Grand Prix, which is scheduled to get underway tomorrow at 14.00 on the Misano World Circuit, from the second row of the grid. The Romagna-born Ducati Team racer set the sixth quickest time in the Q2 qualifying session today, after completing FP3 in the morning in tenth place.

Andrea Dovizioso (#04 Ducati Team) – 1’33.038 (6th)
“The second row for tomorrow is surely very important, especially considering the difficulties we have had to face until today here at Misano. Working calmly and methodologically, we got closer and closer to the frontrunners, especially on pace, and tomorrow, if we make a good start, I believe we can have a say in the matter because the race is particularly long. There are six riders who have a good pace and we will do our best to get inside that group.”

At the end of the first two practice sessions for the San Marino Grand Prix, scheduled to be held this weekend at the Misano World Circuit, the factory Ducati rider finished the day inside the top 10 in the standings, in tenth position, recording his best time in the FP2 session in the afternoon.

“This morning we started off pretty slowly because we knew that the track conditions were not particularly favourable for us and we did several tests with the set-up, which in my opinion went in the right direction because my feeling improved over the two sessions. We are not yet amongst the quickest riders but we’re getting there bit by bit: for sure there’s a lot more work to do but we have some ideas about how to improve the bike tomorrow.”

After two weekends without races, MotoGP returns to Italy this weekend for the thirteenth round of the season, the GP of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera, on the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit.
Although the last race at Silverstone ended with the bad accident at the first corner, Andrea Dovizioso and the Ducati Team keep their spirits is high and he is ready to face the last three months of the championship with great optimism. Once the physical damage reported in the British GP was eliminated, the rider from Forlì will try to repeat the results of the last two years at Misano this weekend: in 2018 he dominated the race right from the start and got one of the best victories of his career while in 2017, under heavy rain, he reached the finish line in third position.

“After the accident in England, I am lucky to be able to participate in the San Marino Grand Prix without physical problems, because the Silverstone crash was very hard and the consequences could have been much worse. During the two test days I was not 100% yet but now I’m fine, I’m fit and I really want to race on this circuit which is special for me, near my home and where I’m sure the fan support will be fantastic. The goal is to repeat the results of the last two seasons in which we got on the podium and we have been competitive all weekend ”.
